Jbilet Winselwan - Carbonaceous chondrite CM2

An angular chondrite was found on 24 May 2013 in the Smara area (Morocco / Western Sahara).The total quantity is approximately 6 kg consisting of complete pieces ranging from 3 to 10 g, a few medium pieces weighing 10 to 200 g and a few alo pieces above 200 g. The largest piece found weighs approximately 900 g. The meteorite contains chondrules and type I and II fragments, the size of the chondrules is up to 1.2 mm. The meteorite contains olivine Fa0.98±0.44 and Fa25-40. and pyroxene Fs2.6±1.5 and Fs40-61. Rare kamacite contains 5.8 wt.% nickel. On the basis of oxygen isotopes, petrography and mineralogical composition, this meteorite is classified as carbonaceous chondrite CM2.
